Advanced Manufacturing Research
Lead Embedded Controls Engineer
Focus: PCB, Firmware & Electronics
Spearhead the design, development, and integration of electronics and control systems for bio 3D printers, FDM, SLA systems, and water cutters.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead full lifecycle design of high-density, multi-layer PCBs using Altium or KiCad
- Develop real-time embedded C/C++ firmware for ARM, ESP32 architectures
- Design controls algorithms (PID loops, motion planning, motor current control)
- Select and integrate electromechanical components (stepper motors, servo systems, sensors)
- Ensure Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT) for scalable production
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical/Computer Engineering
- Expert proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems
- Deep knowledge of PCB design for mixed-signal environments
- Understanding of power electronics and motor drivers
- Experience with SPI, I2C, CAN, UART protocols
- Proficiency with Git version control
Preferred Skills
- Experience with open-source firmware (Marlin, Klipper, Smoothieware)

Lead Hardware Systems Engineer
Focus: Mechanics & Architecture
Define and own the mechanical architecture and systems integration across all product platforms including FDM, SLA, bio-printing, and water cutting.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive system architecture design from concept to production
- Lead mechanical design using SolidWorks/Fusion 360
- Design and optimize linear motion systems (lead screws, ball screws, linear rails)
- Specific focus on toolheads, extrusion/dispensing systems, and high-pressure fluid delivery
- Conduct FEA for structural integrity and thermal analysis
- Manage BOM and collaborate with local vendors for cost-effective manufacturing
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or Systems Engineering
- Expert proficiency in 3D CAD modeling
- Deep knowledge of DFM and low-cost assembly techniques
- Proven expertise in kinematics, tolerance analysis, and GD&T
- Practical experience with FEA simulation
- Familiarity with 3D printing and CNC operational principles
Preferred Skills

Focus: Unreal Engine, Distributed Systems, C++
Build a distributed, self-organizing "Cooperative Combative Agents (CCA)" AI system for low-cost manufacturing using Unreal Engine as the primary simulation environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop Unreal Engine (UE5) environment for multi-agent robotic system simulation
- Implement multiplayer and networking features for low-latency communication
- Architect distributed network layer using MQTT, ZeroMQ, or custom protocols
- Develop core C++ logic for distributed sensing and coordinated decision-making
- Explore AI/ML integration for self-healing and autonomous task allocation

Key Responsibilities
